It was last Sunday morning a little before 6am that the Lord woke me up with this song
and this thought. The song phase was “Jesus be the center of it all” ……. The
question or thought that the Lord put in my heart was can another “religion” worship
God, Yahweh the true and living God but not his Son, Jesus Christ? I have heard some
people say; “well the Arab Muslim and the Jews worship the God of Abraham just like
Christians do”……..so here are the questions;
1. What is the importance of your relationship to Jesus Christ if you worship
the Father God?
2. What does the Father God say about his son, Jesus Christ?
3. What does Jesus say about himself?
4. What does the New Testament apostles say about the Father God, and the
Son Jesus Christ?
Any study of the Old Testament will quickly revel to you the principles of the plan of
redemption, substitutionary atonement and the coming Saviour and Messiah. I want to
focus our discussion today on several that speak of Jesus as the Son of God and not
just a coming great prophet, king or deliverer. There are actually 55 recorded
prophecies from the Old Testament that Christ fulfilled in his birth, ministry, death, burial
and resurrection.
***Before we dive into this message this morning we need to understand that God exist
outside of time. God is eternal. God had no beginning and he will have no end. God is!
Why is that important to us today? It is important because we tend to
anthropomorphizes God so that we can understand him better but by doing so we
create a God of our own making that is limited by our abilities, rational and moral
judgement.
(The term for attributing human traits, emotions, or physical forms to God or other non-
human entities is anthropomorphism.)
Example **A loving “god” would never do this or do that………so what did you just do.
You just made yourself a judge over God’s character and actions based on what you
believe is right and wrong………In other words you just ate the fruit again of the tree of
the knowledge of good and evil. Congratulations you are now equal to the devil in your
thoughts as you position the throne of your life above the throne of Almighty God.

God’s ways and thoughts:

This phrase connects directly to Yahweh (often translated as "The Lord"), which
means "He who is" or "the Existing One"
*** The topic of the message today is about Jesus being the center so I want to
jump to the New Testament and show you Christ in his own words speaking
about himself being enteral and the same God “I am”
***If you read John chapter 7 and 8 together you will get a full picture of Jesus
explanation to the religious leaders of he being both the son of God and eternal.
We are not going to read all of that for the sake of time this morning but I really
love what Jesus says in John 8:58. Lets turn and read if from verse 56.

***verses 1-3 are timeless in that the kingdoms of this world are constantly trying
to rule independent of God. They do not realize that God is ultimately the one who
controls who is in power and the limits on what they can actually do.
Key Verses: Romans 13:1 tells us that God establishes the governing
authorities.
Daniel 2:21, 4:17 both explain that God sets up the kings he wishes over all
the kingdoms of this earth and is sovereign over them.
Proverbs 21:1 the Lord guides the hearts of the kings.
1 Peter 2:13-17 explains that human authority and civil governance are
established by God to maintain social order and justice.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have
I begotten thee.
***Lets pause here for just a minute and talk about this word Begotten. We do not
use this word in regular conversation today but it simply means: To bear, bring
forth as birth, only-born, i.e. single of its kind, only sole:—only. When describing
Christ, denotes the only begotten son of God. This is important as Adam is the
created Son of God. Jesus is the only begotten son of God.
We will talk about this more when we get to the New Testament scriptures about
Christ.

*** This term “kiss the Son” means to reverence and show respect to the Son of

16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me,
because I go to the Father.

17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us,
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me:
and, Because I go to the Father?
18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he
saith.
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye
enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and
again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice:
and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as
she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man
is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall
rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your
joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no
more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the
Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I
came out from God.

28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and
go to the Father.
****The 1 st point of the message today: God almighty is eternal and not limited by
time, space or the limitations of human understanding.
Point 2. Before Jeus Christ was born the Old Testament prophets moved on by
the Holy Spirit prophesied of his coming, who he would be and what he would do.
Point 3. At his conception and birth, the angels proclaimed and announced his
divinity and ministry.
Point 4. While Jesus was on earth his Father God spoke down from Heaven and
reinforced Christ’s words, position and ministry.
Point 5. Jesus in his own words spoke of his place and position, divinity.
Point 6. The apostles moved on by the Holy Spirit spoke of Jesus’s place,
position and divinity.
****Point 7 So what does this all mean? Jesus is the Son of God and God has
exalted Jesus and made him the only way to approach God
